First encounter with Lema’an Achai:

I discovered Lema’an Achai from a close friend. At the time, I was dealing with various challenges in my personal life, and a friend suggested I contact Lema’an Achai and I'm glad I did.

I was homeless - I had no food, no money, no work, and not even a place to sleep. I ended a difficult divorce, remarried, and didn't even have the money to fly my new wife from Mexico. I struggled with guilt for being torn from my children, and I began to lose all hope until I became depressed. I suffered, my children suffered, and my new family, who I was so fortunate to find, also suffered.

When I first entered Lema’an Achai, I saw and felt nothing but empathy. I remember it like it was just yesterday. I am not completely out of financial trouble yet , but I'm on the right track.
It is very difficult to express in words, the intensity of the feelings, which are deeply etched in my heart and soul, towards 'Lema’an Achai. At Lema’an Achai I felt they had a strong desire to help me because of love, understanding and compassion. At that moment I knew I had found myself a new family.
As if out of nowhere, in the darkest moments of my life, I felt that I had a new loving family by my side. I thank my good friend and G-d for guiding me to meet Lema'an Achai.

Our situation is still very complex, challenging, exhausting, and at the same time surprising, empowering and satisfying, all thanks to "Lema’an Achai" who are very close to us. The connection with them empowers and strengthens us greatly.

Over the years, I have heard countless times the comforting words inviting me to go to the office to get more food vouchers before the holidays, or to come and get funding for psychological treatments, doctors, and basically anything! It's very heartwarming.

One special moment that I will always treasure:

I was very excited when Lema’an Achai informed me that they would help me pay for my continued academic studies, which I stopped many years ago. At the age of forty-plus, it didn't even occur to me that there was an option to go back to school. I didn't think there was a chance that I would be able to fulfill this dream. But thanks to Lema’an Achai, my dream of graduating is coming true. I am very fortunate and happy.

Tips and advice for families in need:

No matter how dark the sky may seem to you right now, no matter which obstacles surrounding you, if you just stand tall and find the courage to knock on the door, you will find that there are angels waiting to help you on the other side of the door – 'Lema’an Achai' you are a bunch of angels.
