Almost two hundred needy families literally depend on Lema'an Achai. Without your financial support, all of these families would suffer the severe effects of poverty and crisis. Many of them would go hungry and some would never be be able to stand on their own two feet again. 20% of Israeli families are now Poor. The combination of recent price rises of basic food and the severely reduced Government social security benefits, have created even more families who suffer poverty and "food insecurity". We rely on you and other generous individuals like yourself who donate all or some of their charity money to Lema'an Achai thereby providing us with 85% of our budget needs. Lema'an Achai fulfills all the halachik requirements for ma'aser kesafim (traditional 10% of income donated to charity). So this year, designate Lema'an Achai as your designated charity thereby helping your friends, neighbors, community and the people of the State of Israel to live with dignity and pride with food on the table. Lema'an Achai passed the stringent requirements of the Israeli government and in addition to its Amuta (non-profit organization) status, it has been approved under Israel Finance Ministry regulation Section 46. This enables donors to obtain income tax refunds on all their donations. Donors from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom can also obtain tax refunds on their donations from their specific income tax authorities (see below for details).
